2011 Vintage Is In The Barn
We started the 2011 harvest later than ever before - October 19th - and finished in a very short two weeks. The Estate vineyard gave us a very light crop of very high quality. Rains early in October affected many vineyards in the area, but we were spared. So, not much wine this year, but we think it is going to be marvellously good.

Staffing Changes
Welcome to Justin Moulton, our new Tasting Salon manager! We say goodbye to Eddie Townsend - after four years with Westwood he has moved to bigger things in Napa. Earlier this year our Outside Sales associate James Dick accepted an exciting opportunity as wine list manager at a famous Napa restaurant. Meanwhile, Jenny Gosset continues to help with the Wine Club and in the Salon, and winemaker John Kelly should be around for a while to come.

The newest restaurant in Sonoma - Cafe 522 - is pairing their inventive fresh and local take on classic American comfort foods with our 2007 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir and with our 2006 redFOUR Rhône blend. Cafe 522 has opened to rave reviews - come check them out!

Westwood Brings Home Gold
In early 2011 we released the 2007 Westwood Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir, our first "Estate Bottled" wine, which picked up a gold at the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Grower’s Alliance 2010 Spring Tasting. Last year our 2005 Estate Syrah received a gold. Three cheers for a wine competition that rewards soil-driven wines with moderate extraction, moderate oak and moderate alcohol. Hip hip, hooray!
